What You'll Do
As the Vendor Management Senior Manager, you help orchestrate and elevate BCG X's contingent workforce operations globally. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Vendor Management, you are the senior point of contact for internal firm leaders, external partners, and regional vendor management specialists. You own the end-to-end vendor lifecycle — from market research, partner identification, and legal & commercial negotiations, through contract formalization, contractor onboarding, quality assurance, and financial settlement including timesheets and invoices.
You guide and mentor a team of Vendor Management Specialists across the globe, driving accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence. You act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior stakeholders — both within BCG and with external vendors — ensuring compliant, efficient, and scalable contingent workforce operations. You are a key driver in integrating AI and Agentic AI tools into vendor management processes, positioning BCG X at the forefront of intelligent workforce management.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
- SENIOR STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT Engaging senior firm leaders and external partners with credibility, confidence, and executive presence - navigating complex stakeholder dynamics with poise.
- AUTONOMOUS PROBLEM SOLVING Operating independently in ambiguous, fast-paced
environments - identifying issues proactively, structuring solutions, prioritizing based on regular
alignment with leadership, and driving decisions to closure.
- PROJECT TEAM LEADERSHIP Leading project-teams with confidence and empathy - setting clear direction, coaching specialists, helping them stay on track, and creating accountability across a distributed team in different time zones.
- COMMUNICATION Communicating with precision and impact - both verbally and in writing - across cultures, seniority levels, and functions.
- TECHNOLOGY & AI MINDSET Embracing AI and emerging technologies as multipliers for
operational efficiency - staying curious, experimenting, and scaling what works
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Business, Law, Operations, or related); 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, vendor management, or contingent workforce operations -ideally within a professional services or technology environment.
- Demonstrating deep expertise in procurement or contingent workforce management — applying best practices to negotiate, contract, and manage vendor relationships end-to-end.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams - with a track record of building high performing, distributed, cross-functional groups.
- Proven ability to navigate senior stakeholder relationships - internally with firm leaders and externally with strategic vendors and legal/commercial counterparts.
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI tools or a genuine interest in applying AI to operational
workflows - including process automation, data analysis, or intelligent vendor management systems.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; additional languages (Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin) are a strong plus.
- Experience with professional Vendor Management Systems (e.g., SAP Fieldglass) and strong
command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Self-sufficient and resilient - able to manage complex, multi-stakeholder processes with competing priorities and tight deadlines, without requiring close supervision.
- Willingness to work in-office at least 3 days per week.
