**About the role**
We are seeking a Compensation Manager to join our GTM organisation in Lisbon. Reporting to the Director of GTM Reporting \& Forecasting, this role will lead the governance, execution, and evolution of our sales compensation framework as the business scales across multiple business units.
This is a people\-management role responsible for leading the compensation team and ensuring high\-quality operational delivery across plan execution, calculations, onboarding support, and governance. You will partner closely with Sales Leadership on compensation plan interpretation and structural clarifications, while supporting the Director in the design, rollout, and optimisation of compensation plans.
In addition, you will drive process standardisation and support the implementation of a scalable compensation management tool to enhance automation, transparency, and control across calculations, payouts, and compensation communications.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Compensation Plan Design \& Rollout**
**Team Leadership \& Delivery Oversight**
Lead and develop the compensation team, providing guidance, quality assurance, and operational oversight. Ensure accurate calculations, timely payouts, and effective onboarding support through your direct reports.
**Sales Leadership Partnership \& Governance**
Partner with Sales Leaders to clarify plan mechanics, resolve structural questions, and provide informed guidance on compensation performance topics. Ensure consistent interpretation and application of compensation rules.
**Process Standardisation \& Tool Implementation**
Drive the streamlining and standardisation of compensation processes, approvals, and controls. Support the evaluation, setup, and rollout of a compensation management tool to enable scalability and automation.
**Controls, Accuracy \& Cross\-Functional Alignment**
Partner with Finance, Payroll, RevOps, and Revenue Technology to ensure strong reconciliation processes, data integrity, audit readiness, and alignment between CRM data, reporting, and compensation outputs.
Support the design, documentation, and operational rollout of sales compensation plans aligned to company strategy. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of compensation letters, build plan calculators, and ensure clear, consistent plan communication.
**Required qualification and skills**
**Technical \& Operational Expertise**
Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement) in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Strong working knowledge of Salesforce, particularly opportunity management, reporting structures, and data flows that impact compensation calculations.
High proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage complex calculations, reconcile datasets, and oversee structured compensation modelling.
Experience with compensation management systems or BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is advantageous.
**Compensation \& GTM Acumen**
Experience managing sales compensation plans, including variable structures, accelerators, thresholds, and payout governance.
Ability to connect sales performance metrics to incentive mechanics and operational execution.
**Leadership \& Stakeholder Management**
Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead operational teams and ensure delivery excellence.
Strong cross\-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with Sales Leadership, Finance, RevOps, and Payroll.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate compensation structures and policies to senior stakeholders.
