Role purpose
The Compliance Monitoring Analyst supports the Compliance Monitoring Team within Group Compliance, providing second line oversight and challenge to the business. The role involves analysing and interpreting regulatory requirements, assessing the adequacy of business controls and remediation, and contributing to monitoring activity that meets regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Compliance Monitoring Team in delivering its objectives.
- Plan and execute continuous controls monitoring reviews across discrete business areas, including agreeing outcomes and producing clear reporting.
- Support the Head of Compliance Monitoring in planning and executing thematic reviews across business areas, products and processes.
- Contribute to and enhance the team’s reputation as a centre of excellence on regulatory standards and how they apply to the business.
- Support the delivery and coordination of the annual compliance monitoring plan.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments in compliance management and assess implications for the business.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Compliance team’s work and the wider Hiscox business.
Skills and experience
Technical knowledge
- Experience working in an insurance company with knowledge of the local regulated environment; or experience in a high-quality commercial environment combining regulatory advice with commercial reality.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data and present findings clearly.
- Strong intellectual capability combined with an interest in people, with the interpersonal and negotiating skills required to influence outcomes.
