The BTP Security Engineering Unit serves as a foundation for security services that are consumed by cloud applications as well as other platform services across SAP - strengthening our and our customers’ deliveries.

We own cross-concerns addressing the confidentiality and integrity of SAP BTP like cryptography, certificates and public key infrastructure, credentials management and many more.

Extending our current portfolio, a sovereign cloud version of our central Key Management Service is planned as the next evolutionary step of SAP BTP. Being part of a new multinational team, you can shape this next era from scratch. Following a cloud native mindset, you will use cutting edge technologies like Kubernetes managed by SAP Gardener.

You will run and operate the SAP Key Management Service for our sovereign cloud shipments, you will manage the team of DevOps engineers but also work as such.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain a monitoring system that overlooks our build landscape.
  • Identify and address security and performance issues. Maintain a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the systems we build limit exposure to single points of failure and security vulnerabilities.
  • Design, implement, and manage DevOps capabilities using CI/CD toolsets and automation.
  • Analyze the existing infrastructure and provide expertise on containerization and migration to Kubernetes (K8S).

What you bring:

  • Strong degree in computer science, software engineering or similar (Bachelor/Master)
  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience, including leading international and interdisciplinary teams.
  • A track record of results-oriented leadership and achieving measurable outcomes
  • A team-player mindset with strong collaboration skills
  • Significant expertise (5+ years) working as DevOps engineer
  • Development skills e.g. Golang (preferred), Node.js or willingness to learn Golang
  • Comprehensive experience with Kubernetes and container technology
  • Experience working in agile software development processes (Scrum)
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Positive mindset, team player, humble, transparent, and highly adaptable
  • Curiosity and track record for quickly learning new technologies, concepts and tools

  • Public Cloud Services: Managed Kubernetes clusters, Managed Database clusters.
  • Containerisation & Microservices: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Source control & CI/CD tooling: Flux, Git, GitHub Actions.
  • Observability & Monitoring tools: Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki.
