We are looking for a **Government Affairs Manager** to help shape a constructive, transparent and forward‑looking policy environment that supports access to innovation and reinforces Bial’s long‑term commitment to patients and the healthcare ecosystem.
**The Impact You’ll Make**
In this role, you will:
* Contribute and support the implementation of Bial’s government affairs agenda, ensuring alignment with our purpose and business needs.
* Build and maintain trusted relationships with government authorities, regulators associations and other institutional stakeholders.
* Monitor and analyse legislation, policy developments and emerging trends, assessing their impact on Bial and recommending proactive actions.
* Represent Bial in relevant associations and working groups, contributing to informed and science\-based dialogue.
* Prepare clear insights, briefs and recommendations for internal teams to enable informed decision‑making.
* Strengthen Bial’s license to operate and reputation by consistently demonstrating our BIALER values — fostering belonging, promoting innovation, acting with agility, embracing a life‑oriented mindset, striving for excellence and treating every stakeholder with respect.
**What You’ll Bring**
* Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations or a related area; Postgraduate studies or an MBA are a plus.
* 5\+ years of experience in Government Affairs, Public Affairs or Health Policy within regulated industries.
* Strong understanding of Portuguese policymaking processes and the healthcare system.
* Proven ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with institutional and policy stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical, communication and strategic thinking skills.
* Ability to collaborate across functions and navigate complex environments with diplomacy and integrity.
* Fluency in Portuguese and English.
