Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Group Leader to lead and develop a team of mechanical engineers delivering high‑quality engineering solutions across complex projects. In this role, you will combine technical leadership, people management, innovation, strategic thinking and deployment, ensuring engineering excellence while fostering a collaborative and high‑performance team culture.
You will act as a key interface between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management, ensuring that mechanical engineering activities meet business, safety, and quality objectives.
Your contribution to something big:
- Leadership & Team Development:
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, supporting skill growth and career development.
+ Define team structure, staffing needs, and competency requirements in collaboration with management and HR.
+ Foster a motivating, inclusive, and high‑performance engineering culture.
- Technical & Engineering Oversight:
+ Oversee mechanical engineering activities including design, analysis, and technical documentation.
+ Review and approve engineering concepts, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality systems.
- Project & Delivery Management:
+ Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and to required quality levels.
+ Coordinate resources and priorities across multiple projects.
+ Identify technical risks and drive mitigation actions proactively.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
+ Work closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure smooth execution.
+ Support issue resolution during production, installation, or commissioning phases.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
Qualifications What distinguishes you:
- Education:
+ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience:
+ Significant professional experience in mechanical engineering, with proven leadership experience.
+ Experience in regulated or complex industrial environments (e.g., manufacturing, automotive, high‑tech facilities).
+ Experience leading multidisciplinary or cross‑site engineering teams.
- Know-how:
+ Strong technical background in mechanical design and manufacturing engineering and automotive processes.
+ Solid understanding of engineering standards, quality processes, and safety requirements.
- Languages:
+ Fluency in English, Portuguese, German is an advantage.
- Working Style and Methods:
+ Strategic thinking to manage resources and priorities across multiple projects.
A proactive approach, with a talent for identifying technical risks and driving effective mitigation plans.
- Personality:
