Role Overview
=================

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Group Accountant to oversee the financial health of our diverse business portfolio. You will be the financial linchpin for a group that includes thriving restaurants, a collection of high-end short-term rentals (Airbnb), and a boutique consulting firm.

This isn't just a "desk job"—you’ll be working directly with the owners to optimize profitability across three distinct industries.

Key Responsibilities
========================

• Financial Oversight: Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple entities, ensuring accurate inter-company transactions and consolidated reporting.
• Industry-Specific Accounting:

+ Restaurants: Monitor Food & Beverage (F&B) costs, inventory turnover, and daily POS reconciliations.
+ Airbnb/Rentals: Track seasonal occupancy trends, manage platform fee reconciliations, and ensure tourist tax compliance.
+ Consulting: Manage project-based invoicing, time-tracking oversight, and accounts receivable.

• Compliance & Tax: Prepare documentation for VAT (IVA) filings, IES, and monthly Social Security obligations in coordination with our external TOC (Technical Official Accountant).
• Cash Flow Management: Maintain rigorous cash flow forecasts to manage the seasonality of the Lagos tourism market.
• Payroll Support: Process monthly payroll for a diverse team of seasonal and permanent staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications
=====================================

• Experience: 3–5+ years in a multi-entity accounting role. Experience in hospitality or property management is a significant plus.
• Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills are a must. Experience with Portuguese software (e.g., PHC, Primavera, Sage) and cloud-based tools (Xero, QuickBooks) is preferred.
• Language: Fluency in English and Portuguese is essential for dealing with local authorities and diverse team members.
• Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Portuguese tax system and labor laws.

Soft Skills

• Adaptability: You can pivot from discussing "cost per plate" to "consulting margins" in the same hour.
• Integrity: You will be handling sensitive financial data across multiple private businesses.
• Proximity: Ability to be on-site in Lagos at least 3 days a week to interface with operations and the management team.
