ABOUT THE JOB:

As Experimental continues to expand in Portugal, we are looking for a Certified Accountant to join our team in Porto.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager in charge of our international perimeter, you will oversee several companies, manage analytical accounting, and ensure regular reporting to our Paris head office.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Month-end close, including general ledger reconciliations (cash, prepaid expenses, credit cards), journal entries, accruals, depreciation and amortization, ensuring accuracy and deadlines.
• Revision of the accountancy registries in accordance with the Portuguese accounting standards and rules.
• Managing cash flows report.
• Processing payroll and monthly inventory entries.
• Assistance in the preparation and submission of electronic self-invoices to the Portuguese Tax Authorities and review of the VAT Registers.
• Dealing with the Portuguese VAT (preparing and submitting the periodical VAT returns (monthly or quarterly), as well as the inherent payable documents).
• Support on the submission of other official regular returns (Intrastat, SAFT, COPE, Modelo 30).
• Assist the financial advisors in the preparation of the annual Statutory Financial Statements.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• You have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• You have a solid knowledge of accounting rules and standards in Portugal.
• You are highly proficient in Excel and comfortable working with numbers and data.
• You have a genuine interest in the hotel, restaurant and hospitality sector.
• You are fluent in English and Portuguese, proficiency in French would be a strong advantage.
