BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Incoming Inspection Technician at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.Responsibilities:* Carry out quality control inspections on materials received in the warehouse, in accordance with the work instructions and the control plan defined for each part number.
* Interpret and apply technical drawings, datasheets, instructions, and procedures to ensure compliance with the quality requirements of the components being inspected.
* Prepare reports with quantitative and qualitative data and inform the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) whenever dimensions outside specifications are detected, enabling the initiation of a supplier complaint.
* Perform batch changes and urgent measurements of suspect samples identified in production whenever quality issues with materials arise, thus providing immediate support to the line and helping to avoid stoppages.
* Manage the internal logistics of suspect and/or rejected components due to supplier issues, carrying out the respective blocking or unblocking (in SAP and physically), ensuring proper follow-up according to the SQE team’s decisions.
* Ensure that external sorting teams follow the procedures and instructions provided by the Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs), guaranteeing that activities comply with BorgWarner requirements.
* Comply with environmental, safety, health and energy, quality, and productivity standards
* Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule
* Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
* Respect and comply with environmental policy rules
* Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service

Requirements \& Competencies* 12th grade education and/or technical course, preferably in the areas of Metrology and Calibration, Mechanics, or Electronics.
* Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in similar roles, particularly in material inspection and quality control in an industrial setting.
* Knowledge of production processes and technical components for industry, preferably in the automotive sector.
* Experience with SAP is valued.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and datasheets (knowledge of GD\&T and/or IPC-A-610 standard is a plus).
* Knowledge of metrology and use of measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, profile projector, among others).
* Good computer skills from a user perspective (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Solid understanding of quality tools (MSA, APQP, PPAP, 8D Report, histograms, among others).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and proactively drive improvements.
* Resilience and ability to perform effectively under stress.
* Team spirit and a collaborative mindset across departments
