- As a Business Researcher, you will go beyond traditional research delivery, taking on a central role in building, structuring and scaling knowledge across the organisation
- You will act as a trusted advisor to internal clients, contribute actively to sector‑level expertise, and leverage advanced research tools and AI‑enabled solutions to continuously enhance the IB Research & Insights’s value proposition - helping to structure, scale and monetise the bank’s collective intelligence
Your Main Activities Are
- Deliver high-value, complex information research across sectors, companies, markets and macroeconomic themes to support M&A, strategy and pitch activities
- Act as a thought partner to bankers, helping refine business questions, challenge assumptions and shape research approaches
- Translate structured and unstructured data into clear insights tailored to junior and senior stakeholders
- Support the development of sector-focused expertise, aligning with Investment Banking and M&A teams and priority industries
- Support the creation, structuring and maintenance of knowledge repositories, including sector and industry overviews, thematic research, curated precedent materials, etc
- Identify knowledge gaps and proactively identify reusable content to enhance efficiency and consistency across requests
- Leverage on AI-powered research tools to accelerate insight generation and improve research quality
- Act as a change ambassador by encouraging information‑sharing and data‑driven practices, and by actively supporting the adoption, testing and enhancement of new research tools and methodologies, when necessary
- Support market data governance activities by coordinating with external data providers and internal Procurement and Market Data teams, ensuring effective issue resolution, access management and optimal use of research databases. Actively explore emerging research trends, market data benchmarks and innovative research tools
- Collaborate closely with IB Research & Insights team colleagues to share best practices and scale expertise
- Contribute to internal transversal projects, training initiatives and knowledge-sharing sessions
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Management, Finance, Information Sciences, Information Management, Business and Marketing Intelligence, or related fields
- Experience in business research, knowledge management, consulting, or financial services
- Proficiency of research methodologies and/or platforms
- Expert in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- At ease with AI enabled tools and knowledge management platforms
- Fluency in English, spoken and written
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and work with both structured and unstructured data
- Client‑oriented mindset, with strong attention to quality and detail, and comfortable engaging senior stakeholders across global teams
- High level of autonomy, ownership and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive and energetic attitude, values collaboration, and is consistently keen to support those around them
- Genuine interest in Investment Banking, particularly M&A, along with a solid curiosity of economics, finance, and various industry sectors
About the Team
- As part of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB), the IB Research & Insights team supports Investment Banking teams across Europe
- The team works transversally across geographies and business lines, serving a diverse mix of senior and junior professionals within a strong and well‑established Investment Banking culture that values collaboration, expertise and impact
