ENTER THE GAME

Within the Legal & Regulatory Compliance Team in Portugal, you will play a key role at the intersection of legal, business, and regulation, supporting commercial initiatives and contributing to regulatory compliance matters.

YOUR ROLE WITHIN BETCLIC

LEGAL :

  • Provide clear, pragmatic and business-oriented legal advice across commercial matters, including advertising, marketing, consumer law, digital, IP and entertainment.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g. marketing, partnerships, audiovisual productions, suppliers, licensing, NDAs).
  • Contribute to the development of legal frameworks, templates and best practices, ensuring consistent, solution-driven guidance across the business.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE :

  • Contribute to regulatory compliance matters in close collaboration with the local team, supporting key activities (including reporting, audits and regulatory interactions) while developing in-depth regulatory expertise.
  • Support the interpretation and application of regulatory requirements in Portugal, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse legal and regulatory developments, ensuring timely and relevant internal communication and alignment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for passionate and curious professionals who bring kindness and a touch of enthusiasm!

This job is for you if:

  • You have a Law degree (Bar admission required)
  • You bring 3–7 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house role, with exposure to areas aligned with the scope of the role
  • You have strong legal fundamentals, with particular focus on commercial matters (notably marketing, advertising and entertainment), as well as consumer, digital and IP
  • You combine legal rigor with strong commercial awareness
  • Experience in regulated industries (ideally gaming/betting) is a strong plus
  • You are fluent in Portuguese and with professional fluency in English.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment, autonomy, and a proactive mindset
  • You are detail-oriented, with strong rigor and organizational skills
  • Resilient and adaptable, you thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Eager to learn, with a strong willingness to grow and take on new challenges
  • Positive and team-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

WHAT ARE THE RECRUITMENT STEPS?

  • If your application is shortlisted, Elodie will contact you within a week for an initial HR screening (30 minutes). Then, you will complete the AssessFirst test (personality, motivation and cognitive reasoning).
  • You will meet Tiago – Managing Counsel Portugal (your future manager)
  • Then, you will meet Barbara - Senior Legal Counsel and Miguel - Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel
  • Then, you will meet Sarah - General Counsel
  • Finally, Elodie will conduct a final HR interview to review your AssessFirst results together

The recruitment process usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks to ensure an optimal experience for you.
