50-room hotel & spa - Northeast Portugal - Full relocation required

This is not a management position for someone who has learned hospitality from a distance. We are looking for someone who has lived it, on the floor, behind the desk, in the kitchen pass, and in the spa corridor at 7am when something goes wrong and you are the only one there to fix it.

Avignon Hospitality Group is building a new hotel concept in northeast Portugal. The property is remote, the landscape is extraordinary, and the project is starting from scratch. We are transforming a 50-room hotel into something the region has never seen - and we need the right person to lead it from the ground up.

What you will do

• Own every aspect of the guest experience - rooms, F&B, spa, front desk, and everything in between
• Lead, hire and build a team from the ground up in a remote location
• Work directly with the founding team to shape the product, the culture, and the standards
• Be present - physically and mentally, through the transformation and the opening
• Make decisions with incomplete information and own the outcomes
• Set the tone for what hospitality means at this property, every single day

Who you are

• You have hands-on experience across at least two of the following: rooms operations, F&B, spa, front desk - and a working understanding of all four
• You are direct, honest, and comfortable saying what you think to anyone in the room
• You do not need to know everything - you need to know how to figure things out and ask for help when you need it
• You are ready to relocate fully, work long and irregular hours, and build something rather than maintain something
• You care deeply about guests and even more deeply about the details they notice without realising
• You want to grow - into a bigger role, a bigger group, a bigger version of yourself
• You are a self-starter who does not wait to be told what needs doing
