**A Snapshot of Your Day**
Imagine applying your mechanical engineering expertise to shape the design vision for complex industrial facilities that power Siemens Energy’s global mission. As a Design Manager with a mechanical engineering focus, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, coordinate global design partners, and ensure that every mechanical system—from HVAC to process utilities—meets our technical, sustainability, and operational standards. You’ll be the engineering authority who keeps projects aligned from concept through commissioning, ensuring that every design decision supports innovation, efficiency, and long term performance.
**How You’ll Make an Impact**
* Lead mechanical design development for large industrial construction projects, ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy standards, safety regulations, energy efficiency requirements, and sustainability frameworks such as LEED or BREEAM, while meeting performance targets.
* Oversee and coordinate global and local mechanical design partners through feasibility studies, conceptual layouts, system sizing, and detailed engineering packages, ensuring technical accuracy and constructability.
* Support budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling for mechanical design activities, providing accurate estimates, efficient allocation, and risk management including mitigation strategies for system performance, lifecycle costs, and technical challenges.
* Prepare and present comprehensive mechanical design status reports, maintaining accurate technical data, calculations, and design documentation, and participating in technical reviews and governance processes.
* Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design standards, specifications, engineering workflows, and integration of digital engineering tools such as BIM, simulation, and digital twins to improve quality and efficiency.
* Provide expert mechanical engineering support to the Real Estate community, contributing to project controls, design governance, and collaborative initiatives across global projects
**What You Bring**
* Over 5 years of experience in managing mechanical design for industrial facilities such as power plants, manufacturing sites, and energy infrastructure, with a Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Strong expertise in mechanical systems design, including HVAC, process utilities, piping, fire protection, and energy\-efficient technologies, coupled with familiarity with sustainable engineering practices.
* Skilled in conducting feasibility assessments, value engineering, and lifecycle cost analysis to optimize mechanical systems performance and cost\-effectiveness.
* Proven ability to lead and manage engineering consultants, review mechanical deliverables, and maintain rigorous design quality standards in complex projects.
* Experienced in working within multinational and multicultural engineering teams, with advanced English proficiency and willingness to travel as needed.
* Knowledgeable in the use of digital design tools such as BIM, 3D modeling, and simulation software to enhance design quality, collaboration, and project efficiency.
