We're looking for a health-focused private chef with a strong background in nutrition to cook for our household in Lisbon. This isn't just a cooking job — we want someone who genuinely understands food as nourishment, who geeks out about macros, micronutrients, and how real ingredients fuel the body. A formal nutrition background (nutritionist, holistic nutritionist, naturopath, dietitian, or equivalent training) is a major plus and what we're prioritizing in this search.

This role involves preparing meals for two people, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and grocery shopping for ingredients. We also love hosting dinner parties, so the chef will occasionally prepare meals for small gatherings of 4–8 guests.

I run a healthy living Instagram channel and the meals prepared in our kitchen will often be photographed or filmed for my content. You will not be filmed yourself, but presentation matters because the dishes will be styled and plated for content.

Our Food Philosophy — Please Read This Carefully

This is the most important part of the job. Our kitchen runs on a few non-negotiable principles, and we need a chef who shares these values (not just tolerates them):

* Whole foods, always. Real ingredients, minimally processed, as close to their natural state as possible.
* Everything from scratch. Bread, sauces, dressings, broths, nut milks, condiments — if we can make it ourselves, we do. No shortcuts with store-bought jars full of additives.
* No seed oils. We cook exclusively with olive oil, avocado oil, grass-fed butter, ghee, and coconut oil. No canola, sunflower, soybean, corn, or vegetable oil blends — ever.
* No preservatives, no artificial additives, no refined sugars, and no ultra-processed ingredients in our pantry.
* Ingredient quality matters. Organic when possible, local and seasonal when available, pasture-raised and wild-caught proteins.
* Nutrient-dense by default. Every meal should be built with intention — balanced, nourishing, and designed to make us feel our best.

If this sounds like how you already love to cook, you'll fit right in. If it sounds restrictive, this probably isn't the right role for you.

Responsibilities

* Prepare fresh, nutrient-dense meals for two people
* Make staples from scratch: bread, sauces, broths, dressings, fermented foods, etc.
* Occasionally cook for small dinner parties (4–8 guests)
* Plate dishes thoughtfully for photography and video content
* Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen
* Grocery shop for high-quality ingredients, prioritizing organic and local
* Follow provided recipes and meal plans, and adapt them thoughtfully
* Contribute original ideas for nutritious, creative dishes
* Collaborate on new recipes for the Instagram channel

Ideal Candidate

* Formal education or certification in nutrition, dietetics, holistic nutrition, or naturopathy (strongly preferred)
* Professional experience as a chef, private chef, or in a health-focused kitchen
* Deep personal passion for whole foods and clean eating — this is a lifestyle for you, not just a job
* Knowledgeable about ingredient sourcing, seasonal cooking, and nutrient density
* Skilled at scratch cooking: bread baking, sauce-making, fermentation, broths, etc.
* An eye for plating and presentation suited to content creation
* Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
* Enjoys collaboration and creativity in the kitchen
* Comfortable working in a private home environment

Nice to Have

* Experience developing recipes for social media, blogs, or cookbooks
* Background in specific nutrition approaches (ancestral, Mediterranean, anti-inflammatory, gut health, etc.)
* Knowledge of food as medicine principles
* Fluent English

Pay: 10\.00€ - 15\.00€ per hour
