Job Description
Due to a long-term absence in the certification function, we are seeking a Product Certification Specialist to ensure business continuity, secure global market access, and support ongoing NPIs and lifecycle activities. The specialist will be responsible for driving all regulatory product certification activities across safety, EMC, RF/wireless, and country-specific type approvals.
The role is critical to preventing business disruption, shipment blocks, delays in product launches, and non‑compliance risks.
1. Product Certification for New Product Launches
- Create full certification plans and define requirements per product.
- Consult engineering teams during development to ensure compliance from the start.
- Act as primary interface with external labs/agencies and validate technical proposals and quotes.
- Ensure execution of certifications on time for new product development milestones in 2026.
2. Lifecycle Management
- Assess certification impact of product changes and modifications.
- Provide guidance to R&D on required updates or retesting.
- Prevent delays, overlooked requirements, and market access risks.
- Ensure systematic archiving of certificates and related documentation into our SAP system to maintain full traceability and audit readiness
3. Wireless Type Approval Renewal (WiFi and NFC)
- Monitor expiry dates of wireless approvals per country.
- Initiate renewal processes proactively and coordinate with agencies.
- Maintain continuous market access for wireless systems.
4. Legal Entity Change Management
- Ensure all existing certificates across Safety, EMC, and RF to reflect new legal entity details
- For this coordinate with internal stakeholders, project teams, certification agencies and laboratories
- Collect, prepare, and provide all documentation required for certificate updates.
- Ensure completion before end of 2026 to avoid contractual and legal risks.
5. Go‑to‑Market (GTM) Country Certification Changes
- Manage country‑specific certification requirements driven by recent GTM changes.
- Prepare documentation for local holders/representatives.
- Actively follow up with local teams and agencies in high‑risk countries
- Ensure timely validity of all necessary national approvals.
6. Prepare for Rebranding Certification Updates (2027 Preparation)
- Support preparations for updating all certificates to upcoming new brand (Safety/EMC/RF).
- Plan documentation and coordinate with internal teams and agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 3+ years experience in product certification, regulatory compliance, or type approval (Safety, EMC, RF/Wireless).
- Experience working with certification bodies (TÜV, UL, Intertek, etc.).
- Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks:
+ CE/RED, EMC, Safety (EN/IEC standards)
+ Wireless regulatory requirements (FCC, IC, MIC, KC, SRRC, etc.)
+ Country‑specific type approvals
- Ability to interpret test reports, standards, and technical proposals.
- Experience with documentation for certifications (DoC, test plans, technical files).
- Experience with IT tools (e.g. SAP)
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Proactive follow‑up and stakeholder communication.
- Structured, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent certification tracks under time pressure.
