### About Amazonia Bio
Amazonia Bio is a Belgian–Brazilian company connecting the Amazon’s rich biodiversity with global markets. Headquartered in Brussels, we supply premium organic ingredients to the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.
Certified by IFS Broker and Certisys, we operate with the highest standards of quality, traceability, and sustainability. Beyond sourcing, our mission actively supports Amazonian farming communities through pre-financing, education on sustainable practices, and agritech innovation.
### The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and scientifically curious University-Linked Quality \& R\&D Intern to join our Cascais office. This role is designed for a student who wants to dive deep into the technical side of the organic superfood industry.
You will be a key player in ensuring our products meet the highest international standards while assisting in the research and development of new Amazonian innovations. This is a hands-on internship where your work directly impacts the safety, compliance, and excellence of the ingredients we ship globally.
### Key Responsibilities
* Quality Assurance: Assist in reviewing laboratory analysis reports (COAs) and ensuring all batches meet EU and USDA organic standards.
* Compliance Support: Help maintain and update technical documentation, product specifications, and certifications (IFS, Organic, Kosher).
* R\&D Assistance: Support the development of new product formulations (e.g., powders, concentrates) and conduct research on nutritional profiles and applications.
* Traceability Tracking: Work within our ERP (Odoo) to monitor the "farm-to-fork" journey of our ingredients, ensuring full transparency.
* Sample Management: Coordinate the dispatch of technical samples to international clients and manage the internal quality library in Cascais.
* Audit Preparation: Assist the team in preparing for upcoming quality audits and sustainability reporting.
### Requirements
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Bio-Engineering, or similar) requiring a Curricular Internship agreement with a university.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication in English and Portuguese.
* Strong analytical mindset with a high level of attention to detail (nothing gets past you).
* Proficiency in Google Workspace; familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo) or project management tools (Asana) is an advantage.
* Proactive, “can-do” attitude with a genuine passion for food safety and sustainability.
* Legal right to intern in Portugal (NIF and NISS required).
* Ability to work full-time (Mon-Fri) on-site in Cascais.
### What You’ll Gain
* Direct exposure to the senior leadership in a fast-growing scale-up.
* Hands-on experience with international food safety standards (IFS) and organic regulations.
* Deep insight into the global B2B supply chain of superfoods.
* Experience working with Odoo CRM/ERP.
* A high-accountability environment where your contributions are visible and valued.
* Strong possibility of full-time employment based on performance.
