Summary **We are looking for a Sous\-Chef to join our pre\-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.** Newly opened, Andaz Lisbon is an exciting luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital and represents a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is the second Hyatt‑branded hotel in Lisbon. Located in the heart of Lisbon’s vibrant Baixa district, along the city’s main pedestrian street, Rua Augusta, the hotel is spread across five distinct buildings, including the former headquarters of one of Portugal’s major banks, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). The central building houses 170 guestrooms, while the four surrounding satellite buildings offer a selection of exclusive private suites. As a unique Urban Resort in the city center, Andaz Lisbon invites guests to fully immerse themselves in the local culture and experience the true essence of Lisbon. We are looking for a talented and passionate Sous\-Chef to join the team at Andaz Lisbon. **About the role** The Sous\-Chef is to manage a specific department and work with the Executive Chef to create, implement and maintain quality standards. The ideal Sous Chef will accomplish their tasks by monitoring the daily functions of the culinary department, including providing support and guidance to the culinary team, ending in a positive guest experience. Is responsible for assisting in food planning, preparation, and production that is used for the outlets. Assists the Executive Chef in menu development, food specifications, recipes, and supervising Chef de Partie and Commis. Monitoring food and labour budgets for the department, and maintains the highest professional food quality and sanitation standards. Qualifications **Qualifications** * In\-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations * Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills * Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service * Proficient in general computer knowledge * A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast paced customer service environment * Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner * Strong training and communication skills * Culinary education and/or on the job training, hotel experience preferred * Ability to create innovative and seasonal menus * Experience in leading, training, and motivating a kitchen team. * Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. * Strong planning and organisational skills to run a streamlined operation * Problem\-solving ability, to resolve issues as they arise If this sounds interesting, and a little bit like you, go ahead \- click and apply!
