As a Specialist IS Business System Analyst you’ll work at the intersection of science, data, and innovation. You will play a key role in successfully managing the engagement model between Amgen's Technology organization and Global Commercial Operations. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist IS Business Analyst with a passion for innovation and a collaborative working style that partners effectively with business and technology leaders. - Collaborate with Business SMEs, Data Scientists and Product Managers to manage business analysis activities, ensuring alignment with technology and product goals on the Decision Science product team
- Become a subject matter expert in Decision Science and Next Best Action capabilities by researching, deploying, and sustaining features built according to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Lead voice of the customer assessments to define business processes and product needs
- Lead UAT and production readiness (test cases, traceability, data validation, model monitoring requirement)
- Work with Product Managers and customers to define scope and value for new developments
- Collaborate with Technology and Product Management to prioritize release scopes and refine the Product backlog
- Ensure non-functional requirements are included and prioritized in the Product and Release Backlogs
- Facilitate the breakdown of Epics into Features and Sprint-Sized User Stories and participate in backlog reviews with the development team
- Clearly express features in User Stories/requirements using the Gherkin framework so all team members and stakeholders understand how they fit into the product backlog
- Own backlog hygiene: write INVEST user stories, define Definition of Ready/Done, apply WSJF
- Track and report flow metrics (velocity, throughput, cycle/lead time, WIP, escaped defects) via Jira dashboards to drive continuous improvement
- Work closely with UX to align technical requirements, scenarios, and business process maps with User Experience designs
- Develop and execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changes
- Understand end-to-end data pipeline design and dataflows
- Utilize knowledge of data structures to diagnose data issues for resolution by data engineering team
- Execute and monitor performance of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) jobs and related orchestration events

Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree with 4 - 6 years of experience in Information Systems
- Bachelor’s degree with 6 - 8 years of experience in Information Systems
- Diploma with 10 - 12 years of experience in Information Systems
- Experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria
- Proven analytical, data-driven problem-solving skills
- Proven excellence in interpersonal skills, multitasking, persuasion, negotiation of critical issues, a strong attention to detail, and understanding of business complexity.
- Affinity to work in a DevOps environment and Agile mind set
- Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others
- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules and be accountable
