About GIMM

The Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM) is a pioneering Portuguese private research foundation with an ambitious vision for fundamental scientific exploration and its profound impact on global health and well-being.

Founded in 2023, GIMM is the result of the merge of two leading research institutes, *Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes (iMM)* and *Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC)*, and is dedicated to unraveling the fundamental mysteries of life while standing at the forefront of transdisciplinary research.

What GIMM seeks

GIMM iis seeking a Sterilization and Media Technician to join Washing Room unit.

Main responsibilities include:

* Collection of dirty materials and delivery/restocking of clean materials;
* Operation of washing machines, steam sterilizers (autoclaves), and sterilization/drying ovens;
* Reception, washing, sterilization, final preparation, and distribution of laboratory materials;
* Preparation of sterile tubes, bottles, and tip boxes;
* Cleaning of equipment and facilities within the area;
* Completion of records/forms;
* Preparation of culture media and other services provided by S\&M;
* Preparation and management of user requests through the dedicated platform. Support in the training of new S\&M technicians and new users.
* Support in stock management of materials assigned to S\&M;
* Support in organizing S\&M tasks and services, and in resolving non‑conformities.

Profile of Candidate

* Secondary education (12th grade) or technical/higher education in the sciences or related fields;
* Strong attendance and punctuality;
* Proficiency in Portuguese, spoken and written;
* Proficiency in English, spoken and written;
* Proactivity and dynamism;
* High sense of responsibility;
* Strong organizational skills, versatility, and attention to detail;
* Ability to work well in a team; Good interpersonal and communication skills;
* Computer literacy at a user level.
* Previous experience in culture media and solution preparation or in a similar role.
