About the Role
At Uber, we solve complex, real-world problems at scale. In this role, you will help shape the strategy for Uber Eats courier operations in Portugal by turning ambiguous business questions into clear insights, practical recommendations, and high-impact initiatives.
This is a highly analytical and strategic role at the intersection of business strategy, marketplace analytics, and cross-functional execution. You will work closely with local and regional teams to identify the biggest opportunities in the market, break down complex problems, size and prioritize initiatives, and drive decisions that improve courier experience, safety, and business performance.
The role is best suited to someone who enjoys structuring messy problems, using data to build a point of view, and influencing stakeholders through clear thinking and concise storytelling.
What you'll do:* Structure ambiguous business problems in the courier market, break them into clear drivers, and prioritize the most impactful questions to investigate.
- Lead data-driven analyses to understand courier performance, risk patterns, and marketplace health, and build dashboards or frameworks that support better decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve courier experience, safety and regulatory compliance, and translate them into high-impact initiatives that balance risk, experience, and business growth.
- Size and prioritize opportunities based on impact, feasibility, and trade-offs, then recommend where the team should focus its efforts.
- Partner with Regional Operations, Legal, Employment, Comms, Community Operations, and other teams to design and launch initiatives end to end.
- Synthesize insights into clear, executive-ready recommendations and influence decisions across levels and functions.
- Help build scalable tools, processes, and operating mechanisms that make the local team more effective and consistent.
What you'll need:* 3+ years of experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, banking, growth, or operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong quantitative background, ideally in economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze data, and turn findings into clear recommendations.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to prioritize based on impact and feasibility.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Work authorization in Portugal.
Preferred qualifications:* Experience with SQL or other analytics tools.
- Exposure to marketplace, delivery, logistics, or platform businesses, ideally with some interaction with compliance or safety topics.
- Experience in strategy, business planning, or performance analysis.
