Ideastation is the tech company behind Azores Getaways, Portugal Getaways and Yes Getaways - three brands with strong international traction and a plan to reach €300M in revenue by 2030\.
We’re scaling from 20 to 100\+ Travel Sales Advisors in the next 2-3 years and we’re looking for people who want to grow with us, not just fill a seat.
The role
As a Travel Sales Advisor, you are the voice our clients hear when they’re planning the trip of a lifetime. You’ll work directly with international travellers, primarily from the US and Canada, via phone, email, live chat and WhatsApp to understand what they want, build the right travel package and close the sale.
This is not a call centre job. You own your client from first contact through to departure. You design personalised itineraries, recommend upgrades, upsell experiences and ensure every detail is right. The better you serve your clients, the more you earn.
What you’ll actually do
* Respond to inbound travel enquiries across multiple channels (phone, email, chat, social, tailor-made requests)
* Consult with clients to understand their travel preferences and craft personalised proposals for trips to the Azores, mainland Portugal and European destinations
* Convert prospects into bookings - phone is our highest-converting channel and you’ll be encouraged to get clients on a call whenever possible
* Own the full client relationship: upsells, add-ons, seat reservations, upgrades and ancillary services are all your responsibility (and your commission)
* Manage your own pipeline - you choose which prospects to work from a shared queue. Access to prospects is a privilege, not an obligation
* Follow up proactively on pending quotes, abandoned payments and open proposals
* Deliver outstanding service that drives repeat business and referrals
Who you are:
Must-haves
* Fluent English - spoken and written. You’ll be communicating daily with North American clients and your English needs to be confident, natural and professional
* A genuine drive to sell. You enjoy the challenge of turning a maybe into a yes
* Comfortable working in shifts - our clients are in US/Canadian time zones, so our operations run accordingly
* Based in Portugal - either in Azores for on-site work at our office or anywhere in mainland Portugal working remotely.
Nice to have
* Experience in sales, hospitality, tourism or customer-facing roles
* Familiarity with the Azores, Portugal or European travel
* Additional languages (French, Spanish, German) are a plus but not required
* Comfort with digital tools and CRM-style platforms - experience with GDS systems (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre) is a strong plus
No prior travel industry experience required - we provide comprehensive training from day one (including 1 week in-person onboarding bootcamp at our Lagoa headquarters for mainland based hires). What we can’t teach is ambition, empathy and a strong work ethic. Bring those!
What we offer
Base Compensation
€1,306/month
Base salary €1,025 \+ Card meal allowance €229\.90 \+ Monthly allowance €51\.25
Performance Commission
Uncapped - based on margin generated per booking (2% - 12\.5% depending on lead source)
Top Performer Bonus
Additional 1 - 8 percentage points on total margin for agents exceeding €30k\+/month
Contract
Permanent (open-ended), with a 3-month probation period
▶ Realistic earning potential: with base salary, allowances and commissions, strong performers can realistically earn €2,500\+/month within their first year. Our top current advisors earn significantly more.
